The Return of Jesus

The hope for all Christians is to be alive when our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ returns to earth. Jesus tells us in Matthew that he would come back on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. There are 4 important truths about Jesus' return:

1-It will take everyone by surprise. In 1 Thessalonians 5:2 it says Jesus will come 'like a thief in the night'. Even Jesus doesn't know when he shall return- only the Father knows. So ignore anyone's claims that they know when Jesus will return.

2-Everyone one will see Jesus. HIs first coming was  seen by only few people in Bethlehem. Only some people witnessed his arrival to the world. But in Revelations 1:7 it says ' every eye will see him'.

3- He will bring salvation and judgement to the world. As Christians we can be assured that we will be saved from eternal separation from God. But do not stray from your ways because in Matthew 10:34 it says 'do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword'. But we shall face Jesus and enter his new creation.

4-Jesus's second coming will mark the end of this present evil age and the beginning of the age to come. In this coming age all of Gods people will be gathered with him forever in heaven. There will be no more pain crying and suffering.

As Christians we should watch and stay alert. Since he may come at any moment we should be living our lives full of faith love and hope. And we should pray for his coming. The Bible ends with ' Amen, Come Lord Jesus'.
